This is another product that all I had to do was turn the bottle over in the store and quickly scan over the ingredients to know this was a no go. At the end of the third line is potassium hydroxide, a very alkaline ingredient much like sodium hydroxide, a major component in relaxers. I’m sure it’s in there to balance the pH or keep the ingredients from separating, but still. Yuck. Also, immediately after fragrance (which is pretty high up on the ingredient list) is isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). This is considered really drying, so why it’s in a product that’s supposed to be fortifying and nourishing curls is beyond me. I know it’s often put in products to reduce thickness, but I think I’d rather have a thicker product, or for them to put in a little more water or something to reduce thickness. Seeing those two things alone were enough for me to quickly put the bottle back on the shelf.
